Professor of Photography - Photography Department at Santa Monica College, Santa Monica, California. 

I teach all areas, including beginning camera techniques; beginning darkroom work; beginning studio lighting and large format; professional digital capture techniques; beginning portfolio development; business practices; advanced black & white printing techniques; zone system techniques; beginning and advanced Photoshop; web creation; color printing; advanced shooting techniques; digital printing on black & white fiber, color, enlarged negatives, Ilfochrome and for Lightjet output.

Education

 

BA in Photo-Communications from Saint Edward's University, Austin, TX.

Graduated Summa Cum Laude, in December 1987.

March 1986 - present; self employed commercial freelance photographer both in Los Angeles & Austin, TX. shooting architecture, catalogs, brochures, print ads and people in a wide variety of locations and circumstances.

Aside from my current teaching position at Santa Monica College, I have also taught college level courses at Seattle Central Community College, Seattle, Washington; College of the Canyons, Valencia, CA.; East Los Angeles College, Monterey Park, CA.; Los Angeles Pierce College, Woodland Hills, CA.; and Ventura Community College, Ventura, CA.

March 1992- August 1997: Director of Photographic Workshops at Samy's    Camera, Los Angeles, CA.

1987, 1986 1984 & March 1985; Lectures on Ilfochrome. and Dye Transfer   printing techniques for Russ Young, graduate class at the University of Texas at Austin, Sybill Miller and Rixon Reed at St. Edward's University, Austin, TX.
