About this image:
| I had been looking up Beaver Creek Road (about 15-miles west of I-5) a number of times trying and trying to find a picture. I drove the road this January morning hoping that the snow hadn't closed it off too soon. This image is taken in the Beaver Creek Campground area. The campground was covered with about 3" of snow. If you look really close, you can not only see snow on the rocks, but the weather had been so cold that the splashing of the water over and around the rocks froze. The temperature wasn't too cold, this day, about 32. The sun was rising in the background showing that the winter hadn't too harsh this year. The trees still had some green in them. Since the foreground area doesn't see the sun much, it creates a stark contrast between winter cold and sunlight warmth. |
