About this image:
| Bloomer Falls is a very narrow slit of rock on the Salmon River. When I found this image I took 4 different time exposures of 1, 6, 24 and 66 seconds. The one you see here is only 1 second long for the exposure on film at f22. For me, this image shows the pressure of water as it crashes into something. You can almost feel the power and speed of the motion. Water moves in circular vortexes encapsulating all that it touches and surrounds. The color of the water here is formed partly from the depth and from the amount of bubbles underneath the surface reflecting back the light from a shallow depth. January 17, 2005. |
