About this image:
| The point of view in this photograph the Klamath River is just out of sight to our right. The bottom left corner is only about 12" from the lens of the camaera. This image took some 30 minutes to get the camera set-up correctly in order to have sharpness from 12" to all the way back up Oak Flat Creek. I wondered how long it took to make this rock. Are each striations a new flow of mud or molten rock from ions of time long since past? What force it must have taken to push this weight up from the depths of the earth below. I found this image in the morning of January 16th, 2005. The light wasn't just right when I found the location, so I came back late afternoon the same day and created the image you see here. |
